İlköğretim düzeyindeki seçmeli derslerin seçim kriterlerinin öğretmen ve okul yöneticisi görüşlerine göre değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Seçmeli dersler ortaokul seviyesinden başlayarak lisede ve üniversitede devam etmektedir. Bu derslerin özgürce seçimi ve verimli işlenmesi çok önemlidir. Uzman personel eksikliği, derslerin sürekli olarak değişmesi, araç-gereç sıkıntısı gibi nedenler seçmeli derslere yüklenen misyonun yerine getirilip getirilmediği gibi bir soruyu akla getirmektedir. Araştırma bu problem durumundan yola çıkılarak planlanmış, seçmeli derslere ilişkin bazı boyutlar öğretmen ve yönetici görüşlerine göre değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma tarama modeline göre Elazığ ve Bingöl il merkezleri ve bu iki ilin bazı ilçelerin okullarında görev yapan 230 öğretmen ve 15 okul yöneticisi üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Demirbaş (2008) tarafından geliştirilen “seçmeli derslerin seçim kriterlerinin belirlenmesi” anketi kullanılmıştır. Öğretmenlere ve yöneticilere göre okuldaki araç-gereç, mekân eksikliği seçmeli derslerin yürütülmesinde öncelikli sorundur. Öğretmenlerin okullarda seçmeli derslerin belirlenmesinde dikkate alınan faktörlere ilişkin görüşleri incelendiğinde; seçmeli derslerin belirlenmesinde birinci sırada “okulun imkânları” görüşü ağır basarken, yöneticilere göre bu “öğrenci istekleri” olarak belirtilmiştir. Ayrıca öğretmenlerin çoğunun branşı dışında seçmeli derslere girdiği belirlenmiştir. Öğretmenlik mesleği alan gerektiren bir meslek olduğuna göre seçmeli dersleri verebilecek ilgili alanlara göre öğretmen istihdamının bir an önce yapılması gerekmektedir.

As the data collection tool in the research, "Determination of selection criteria of elective courses" questionnaire developed by Demirbaş (2008) was used. According to the teachers and administrators, there is a priority problem in the execution of elective lessons in the school. When teachers' opinions on the factors taken into consideration in the selection of elective courses in schools are examined; While the elective courses are determined in the first place, the "possibilities of the school" is dominant, according to the administrators, it is stated as "student wants". It has also been determined that most of the teachers entered elective courses outside the branch. Teacher occupation is a required profession, so it is necessary to employ teacher as soon as possible according to the related fields that can give elective courses
